Ten undergraduate Architecture students, a level 2 containment lab, the most expensive cellophane money can buy and pipettes full of bacteria spores. What could go wrong?

We kicked off the Bacilla Spore Actuator project with a 3rd Year Architecture studio as part of our Experimental Architecture theme. The students worked on designs for a facade panel which would respond to changes in humidity by opening and closing an aperture. The students devised over 100 prototype mechanisms and worked directly with the material in the lab. This video is a recording of what they did.
