Javier Rodriguez Corral

Javier is a PhD student in the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape at Newcastle University, UK. His current research aims to investigate on the interaction between bacteria and soils by exploring the growth and distribution of bacteria cells in hydrogels – material used as a soil analogue. Further, Javier’s research interests include bacteria-based soil improvement methods and the use of microbial-induced calcite precipitation processes in order to improve the quality of the ground.

Javier also holds a Bachelor and an MsC in Civil Engineering.
